The Symposium on Urbanization and Stream Ecology (SUSE) is an interdisciplinary meeting held approximately every 3-5 years with the specific aim to further the scientific study of stream ecosystems in urban landscapes. The symposium shares knowledge between researchers and practitioners from around the world and has sparked influential discussions and publications on problem definition, global similarities and differences, and interdisciplinarity in practice, among other topics.

We welcome participants from diverse cultural, professional, and disciplinary backgrounds. We believe that diversity and inclusivity yield innovation, creativity, and the representation essential for scientific advancements and effective urban landscape management.

Stick around down under after SUSE for Freshwater Sciences 2023!

Picture
The 2023 Joint Meeting of the Society for Freshwater Science and the Australian and New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Societies will be held at the state-of-the-art Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia, from June 3-7, 2023. This will be the first time the Society for Freshwater Science—who is leading this joint effort—will hold its annual conference outside of North America! As the inaugural joint meeting of three freshwater science societies committed to a common set of core values; and dedicated to a shared mission of furthering the understanding and promoting conservation of freshwater resources, fostering scientific and professional development of freshwater practitioners, and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the freshwater science community; “Freshwater Down Under 2023” represents an exciting opportunity to broaden 'north-south' collaborations and explore cooperative and multi-disciplinary solutions to the complex challenges facing freshwater ecosystems.

To register to attend or for more information, please visit us at www.freshwaterdownunder2023.org to learn more and to submit an abstract to the special session "Urban Streams: Global Solutions to Local Problems around the World"!

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which SUSE participants will meet, the Turrbul and Yagara people. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present and recognise their ongoing connection to and custodianship of the land and water on which we rely. Sovereignty was never ceded.
